Liverpool Heights Highs

Liverpool FC have been among the prime topics of the football world in recent months. From celebrating their 20th league title earlier in May to the heartbreaking and tragic loss of their key player Diogo Jota, there have been some testing times for the club.
May 2025 marked a significant milestone for Liverpool. The club secured their 20th league title (2nd in the Premier League era), to go on to level with their arch rivals Manchester United as the most successful clubs in the league’s history. It was a special moment for the fans as they had their first opportunity in over 3 decades to celebrate a league title, since the latter half of the 2019-20 season had to be played behind closed doors.

The previous season saw Liverpool kickstart a new era under Dutch coach Arne Slot who replaced German gaffer Jurgen Klopp after a decade filled with success and trophies. Expectations for the Dutch’s first season in charge were considerably limited, given that the team along with the coach would require time to settle into the fast pace of the Premier League.

Contrary to fan’s expectations, Liverpool FC and Arne Slot outperformed their opponents and were crowned the best club in the country. The Red’s finished 10 points clear of Arsenal and had wrapped up the league by the last week of April itself. Sadly to the fans disappointment, the club lost the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle, knocked out of the FA Cup to Plymouth FC and lost the UCL Ro16 to PSG on penalties after a highly appreciated league stage.

Going into the new season, Liverpool look forward to building a strong foundation for their future. The sad passing away of winger Diogo Jota has left a hole within the club, but the team stands determined in giving a strong statement with their performances. The renewal of key players like Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk looks extremely great. Major signings of Florian Wirtz, Jermy Frimpong and Milos Kerkez seems promising, while the transfer of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is on the cards as well. The future of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz is up for grabs in the transfer market and only time will tell whether they continue their story with the Reds.

Liverpool FC Player Heights- 2025/26 Season

Alisson Becker (Pos-GK) Height- 1.93m

Liverpool’s number 1 shot stopper will continue serving between the sticks for the upcoming season. Having been key in Liverpool’s recent success, the goalkeeper will have to double his efforts with the arrival of a new goalkeeper which will serve as a healthy competition for the team. Being one of the tallest players on the team, Becker can use his height to the best of his advantage in aerial duels just like he has been doing over the past couple of seasons. Alisson was magnificent for Liverpool against PSG at the Parc Des Princes and had Thierry Henry say “ Sometimes, you also have to give the goalkeeper credit on that one. There’s nothing to say about Alisson Becker—he was magnificent tonight. If it weren’t for him, Liverpool would have struggled.”

Giorgi Mamardashvili (Pos-GK) Height-1.97m

Mamardashvili arrived from Valencia and is currently the tallest player in the squad. Giorgi will primarily serve as a backup to Brazilian Alisson this season, with plans for him to replace the South-American keeper in the future. Given his height, he too can prove to be an asset for the keeper position.

Both keepers will seem to give a headache to Slot who has to choose between two gifted players within his squad.

Virgil Van Dijk (Pos-CB) Height- 1.95m

The Dutchman is currently the tallest defender at the club and has been at the heart of the defence since 2018. He has also received the armband 2 seasons back and has carried forward the responsibility with grit and passion. Given his tall height, he will be essential in aerial duels and goal scoring opportunities. Once a football pundit while speaking about the Liverpool captain said, “Just a Rolls-Royce. I think that’s the best way to describe him, he’s unbelievable.”

Ibrahima Konate (Pos-CB) Height- 1.94m

Signed in 2021 from Leipzig, the French defender has moulded himself into an important element in the team’s back line. His height again, if used to the complete potential will definitely prove to be a major asset to the club. His contract is up for negotiation and extension, but a possible exit next summer as a free agent is definitely on the cards with giants like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona highly rating the player.

Joe Gomez (Pos-CB) Height- 1.88m

Gomez mainly plays as a backup centre-back to defenders Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. Though he hasn’t been completely utilised yet, he looks poised to replace either of the centre-backs if they end up leaving sooner than expected. His height again seems to indicate that Liverpool truly invests in defenders with a great height and physicality.

Milos Kerkez (Pos- LB) Height- 1.80m

The 21 year old full back has been signed from AFC Bournemouth on a multiple year deal. The player has looked promising in pre-season and will be filling the shoes of some important departed players.

Konstantinos Tsimiskas (Pos-LB) Height- 1.79m

Konstantinos Tsimiskas has been with LFC since 2020. The left-back hasn’t had the best of times with his most notable moment, the winning penalty against Chelsea in the 2022 FA Cup Final. The player might not be the tallest but can prove to be important in on ground defending.

Andrew Robertson (Pos-LB) Height- 1.78m

Andrew Robertson has been a loyal employee of LFC since 2017. With only 2 years left on his contract, the veteran is looking for a change in scenery. His departure from the club is something that only time will tell, but as long as he is a part of the squad, he will be an important cog of the backline. His average height has helped be a smooth operator of the ball.

Jeremie Frimpong (Pos-RB) Height- 1.72m

With the departure of Trent Alexander Arnold to Real Madrid, Frimpong serves as the best replacement. With a knack for creating chances and a decent defender, his height does not serve as a major talking point for the fans or the club.

Ryan Gravenberch (Pos-DM) Height- 1.90m

Gravenberch is a defensive midfielder signed from Bayern Munchen in 2023. Recent years have proven that a tall DM with high physicality is guaranteed success especially in the fast paced Premier League. Gravenberch has had some brilliant outings in the past season and will look forward to carrying and improving his form in the upcoming season.

Curtis Jones (Pos-CM) Height-1.85m

Curtis Jones is a player who is viewed as the future of Liverpool. With immense potential and a decent experience, he can prove to be a breakout English star for the new season. His height can be an area of potential and improve his overall performance.

Wataru Endo (Pos-DM) Height- 1.78m

The Japanese midfielder is a purchase from the summer of 2023. Given his shorter height as compared to the rest of the squad, he has learnt to manage it to the best of his ability, by making interceptions and defensive actions at the right opportunity.

Harvey Elliot (Pos-AM) Height-1.70m

Elliot is one of the shortest players in the current squad. Since making his debut under Jurgen Klopp, the English rookie has been slightly inconsistent for the Red’s. Being an attacking midfielder and having a short height, Harvey Elliot significantly relies on scoring and finishing within the box.

Alexis Mac Allister (Pos-CM) Height-1.76m

Mac Allister was one the key members in guiding Liverpool to success in 2025. Fans and pundits consider him as the best midfielder within the club. Given his short height, the World champion has learnt to exploit cracks in the opposition defence and provides assists along with creating big chances. It would be interesting to see how the talisman partners up with new signing Florian Wirtz. Clubs throughout Europe would be interested to see the threat this duo could pose.

Florian Wirtz (Pos-CAM) Height-1.77m

This summer’s big summer signing is coming to the squad to prove a point and justify his price tag. For the first time in a while, football fans have been shocked at watching Liverpool making a big money signing of over a 100 million euros. Wirtz had been exceptional for Leverkusen in their incredible “Invincible” run in 2024. Having been at the heart of Xabi Alonso’s system and performing incredibly well at the Euro 2024, European giants were scrambling to get his signature for the new season. Wirtz, similar to Mac Allister’s style, has a knack for goals, assists and chance creation for his height.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Pos-CAM) Height-1.87m

The Hungarian giant got off to a slow start, but has cemented his position within the team over the seasons. Given his good height and high physicality, he endures the nasty tackles and ticks off multiple requirements in Liverpool’s midfield.

Mohamed Salah (Pos-RW) Height-1.75m

Nicknamed as the “Egyptian King”, the versatile winger has set English football ablaze since his arrival in 2017. Salah has achieved everything with Liverpool and had one of his greatest seasons in 2024-25. The fan favourite managed to win the Premier League Golden Boot, Playmaker of the Season and FWA Footballer of the year all in the 2024-25 season.

Despite being an average height player, the winger has been successful and has received Ballon D’or shouts for the season. His height allows him to dribble past defenders, create big chances and has also proven to be his essential goal scoring premise.

Salah was once quoted “Hard work, dedication and pure motivation makes you who you are and will become” and it’s his efforts that have enabled him to achieve all that he has.

Cody Gakpo (Pos-LW) Height-1.93m

The Dutch international was signed for Anfield following a highly appreciated 2022  FIFA World Cup performance. His versatility in front of the goal is commendable. Despite not truly unlocking his full potential, the tall forward can be lethal at heading, shooting and getting past defenders on his day.

Luis Diaz (Pos-LW) Height-1.80m

Colombian forward Diaz’ Liverpool career is hanging by a thread. Though initially talks of a contract extension were circulated, talks of his exit from the club have become concrete in the recent months. With clubs like FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munchen waiting for an opportunity to grab the star. Given his good dribbling skills and managing to get past tall defenders, Diaz would be beneficial to the club provided he decides to stay.

Darwin Nunez (Pos-CF) Height-1.87m

The Uruguayan striker arrived from Benfica in 2023 with a hefty price tag and is yet to prove his worth. Nunez has been chipping in goals in important matches, but has not been able to leave his mark on the fans heart. Given his height and physicality, scoring and heading goals should be his prime strength. Reports of him leaving the club are true and the arrival of Alexander Isak might be the final goodbye for the forward.

The new season will provide the club with greater and new challenges. It would be interesting enough to see how the club performs and the direction they will be heading into after a busy summer and big money signings.
